DIY Toys - Pizza Playset

I've seen so many ideas out there for felt pretend food and most of them look just adorable but unfortunately they're above my sewing skill level at this moment. That's largely because my sewing machine is in the box in storage waiting for me to clean the office so it can find a home on my desk. Until then, the most sewing I'm doing is reattaching buttons...

Luckily, you can still make pretend food without sewing. They may not look quite as pretty or realistic, but I think that matters more to us than the kids!

All I did was cut felt shapes to make my pizza base and toppings and cut a circle out of foam board (the white circle on the right) to use as a pizza stone. I hope to get templates up soon for the pizza ingredients, but for now you'll have to free hand it. What we have is:
  • Tan pizza dough circle
  • Red sauce blob
  • White cheese blob
  • Brown mushrooms
  • Red pepperoni circles
  • White onion slices
  • Green pepper slices
I might eventually add broccoli, olives and anchovies - I've never met anyone who likes anchovies on their pizza but the little fish shapes are cute! Anyway, pile your pizza with toppings and bake in the oven. You may need a pizza paddle to get your pizza into and out of the oven :-)
